The Father NEVER gives up!

Wow!!! This is true worship! I can’t watch this and not get totally “wrecked!” At about the 5:45 minute mark Jonathan’s wife, Melissa, comes in. It is soooo powerful! It is true…the Father is NEVER giving up on us! This is the Gospel. It is what consumes us! It is why we must take this message to the nations! It is why we must take it to Thailand! It is what the children rescued from human trafficking must hear and experience! Click the link below, enjoy and pass it on. Blessings

Time to Act

Official Nefarious Merchant of Souls TrailerTime to Act!

Sometimes in life you face the challenge of something so much bigger and more significant than yourself. And you know that you must act…move…do something! To do nothing is not an acceptable option. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says that To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.” This is our time…our season to act! Over the past couple of years we have shared with many of you that we believe it to be God’s will and our desire and intention to establish a home(s) in Thailand for the aftercare, healing and restoration of some of the 800,000 children caught in sexual slavery (human trafficking). As time goes by, the weight of this burden does not diminish. It grows with each passing day, knowing that so many of  these defenseless children have no one to come to their aid! They have been betrayed and abandoned by every adult they know. To them, every day delayed in their rescue and restoration can mean the difference between life and death. The horror of what they must face each day seems like an eternity, with no hope or prospect of deliverance. Having ministered in Thailand for more than 15 years we are aware of how urgent the situation is and feel compelled to take action. Faith has always required obedience…action! Jesus commanded us (His church) to “Go” and demonstrate the righteousness and justice of His Kingdom. “Go” in the power of Holy Spirit and “destroy the works of the devil” (1 Jn. 3:8). “Go” and heal the broken and set captives free (Isa. 61)! It is an assignment that we cannot ignore or dismiss. It is an assignment that requires each of us to dig down deep and discover the courage and strength needed to do what God is calling us to do.

It is with this in mind that we have determined that we must get to Thailand as soon as possible. Right now we are working toward getting all of our affairs here in the U.S. in order so that we can be on the ground and working in Thailand within one year, if not sooner. Currently, there is a trip to Thailand scheduled for November and again in January or February 2013 for ministry and further planning for the home(s) for children. Presently, the only thing holding us back from establishing a long term presence in Thailand is the need for additional monthly support that will give us the freedom and flexibility to carry out this ministry. We are asking you to partner with us in this work with prayer and regular monthly financial support. Whether it is $10, $50, $100 or $1000 a month…it all matters…it all counts. Also, any one time gift in any amount would be greatly appreciated! It is good seed sown into good soil!  Every dollar invested is one more step of faith in the fight that will mean the salvation and restoration of these children, decide the fate of a generation and a nation.

Another exciting thing has just happened. We recently acquired a license for unlimited showings of the documentary “Nefarious: Merchant of Souls”. It is about modern slavery (human trafficking) and is probably the most powerful and stirring film we have ever seen. We are now scheduling dates to show this award winning film. It is our firm belief that, after seeing this film, many will be touched and moved by the severity of this evil and perhaps moved to get involved in some way. If you know a church, home group, civic group or business that might be open to hosting a screening of Nefarious or need more information, please, let us know as soon as possible.

Setting Captives Free

Today is the 4th of July and as a nation we celebrate our independence and freedom. As we were reflecting on that blessing, we were reminded of an even greater “freedom” that was won and made available by Jesus Christ (John 8:36). Through His death, burial and

An uncertain future!

resurrection the whole human race can be liberated from sin, disease, oppression and poverty (Isaiah 61). And He has chosen us, given us His Holy Spirit and raised us up to co-labor with Him to bring that liberty and the revelation of the Father’s love, glory and power to the nations. Today as you celebrate the liberty you enjoy and the rich blessings of that liberty we want to ask you to consider partnering with us to bring freedom, liberty, healing and restoration to the 800,000 children in Thailand trapped in sexual slavery. It is for these that He came and died. It is for them that He has called and raised us up. We want to thank you for your prayers and generous financial support.

We are in the planning stages of our next ministry trip to Thailand, which will be sometime this Fall.  Presently, we are ministering in churches, conferences and conducting schools to train, equip and launch people into their gifting and ministry. If you and/or your church or fellowship have an interest in having us come to minister, please contact us. We would love an opportunity to bring furtherance in the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit.

A final word; we want to thank each of you for your prayers and support of this ministry. We believe that 2012 is going to be a breakthrough year for the people of God around the world. We would like to ask you to consider partnering with us in the work we are doing in the U.S. and Thailand. God is on the move. Together, let’s move with Him!

Love and Blessings,

Dan & Trish

Incurable Fanatics

“Incurable Fanatics”

As many of you know Trish and I have a call to be part of the fight to end human trafficking and sexual slavery in Thailand. In particular we want to help rescue and care for children who have been trafficked or are at risk of being trafficked by setting up safe homes. Recently we saw the documentary film Nefarious: Merchant of Souls. This film takes you behind the veil of the worldwide sex industry. It is probably the most moving and powerful film we have ever seen. It just reinforced the truth of Proverbs 24:11-12;

“Deliver those who are being lead away to death,                                                                              And those who are staggering to slaughter, Oh hold them back.                                                         If you say, ‘See, we did not know this.’                                                                                                   Does He not consider it who weighs the hearts? And does He not know it who keeps your soul? And will He not render to man according to his work?”

According to the dictionary the word nefarious means “flagrantly wicked, evil, vicious, immoral.”  Any description of human trafficking can only be described as “nefarious”. It is estimated that today that more than 27 million people are in slavery around the world. Most of these are women and children. And the vast majority is caught in sex slavery. In Thailand there are 2.8 million women, men and children in prostitution. 800,000 are children. The question is what is the church (that includes you) going to do to bring this great evil to an end? We can no longer look the other way.

This is not the first time the church has had to face this evil. In the late 18th century slavery was epidemic around the world. At that time a man named William Wilberforce rose up and took an unpopular and much maligned stand for the abolition of slavery. Against seeming impossible odds he led a movement that eventually resulted in the end of slavery in the West. It is time for a new generation (young and old) to stand up with the courage and passion of Wilberforce and bring an end to human trafficking. He is quoted as saying, “If to be feeling alive to the sufferings of my fellow-creatures is to be a fanatic, I am one of the most incurable fanatics ever permitted to be at large.” So it is with Trish and me. May it be so with the church, with you!

Do You Love Her?

I was just talking with my friend Dave Weigel (pastor of Living Waters, Elk River, MN) at the Global Legacy meetings in Rochester, MN. We decided that when it is all said and done it is about the presence and love of God. Which reminded me of Rev. 2:4. Love…”first love” passion for Him and His presence is the priority. Which reminded me of a testimony shared with Trish and me by our “spiritual ……daughter” Jade Dols, who recently sent off to Thailand to join the battle against human trafficking. The testimony is as follows:

Do you love her?

When I found out that I was accepted into Iris Ministries School of Missions, I was very excited.  As you may know, Iris Ministries in Mozambique experiences the manifest love and power of God like very few places on the earth.  Here the blind see, deaf hear, lame walk, and the dead are raised on a regular basis.  Miracles and transformation are normal.

I was very excited to go.  “Yes!” I thought, “Finally I will see the love and power of Jesus poured out like in biblical days.  I will be able to bring back the faith and anointing and we will experience revival in Minnesota!  I can take these testimonies around the world.  It will be so good to have the faith for the miraculous everywhere I go!”

A week or two after arriving and starting school, they started sending teams into the “bush-bush” for evangelism.  I had heard countless stories of how Iris sends teams into these remote groups of people, and entire villages come to Christ along with healings, signs, and wonders.  The whole 9 yards.  “Finally!”  I thought to myself.  “I have been waiting so long.  This is going to be amazing!  I am ready.  In fact, I am more than ready.”

The big night had finally come.  They played the Jesus film aaaand…..not much happened.  It was chaotic; I didn’t see anyone get saved.  No blind eyes opened or deaf ears heard.  No lame people walked or dead were raised.  I think some headaches went away, but it was hard to tell.  “That’s weird.”  I said to myself, “Um…Lord, this wasn’t anything like the books or stories I’ve heard.  I don’t quite understand what’s going on….”

I had big hopes for the second day, sure that the Lord would show up and pour out His love and power on these poor village people.  We went on “house visits” to pray for the sick.  This consisted of a group of us going from mud hut to mud hut, asking what’s wrong, praying, seeing nothing happen, praying again, still seeing nothing happen, trying to encourage the person, and moving onto the next home.

In one of the last homes that we visited, there was an elderly woman sitting on a rope bed.  The mud hut was very dark and musty.  There were no lights and the dust made it hard to breath.  The whole right side of her body was paralyzed, so she couldn’t move very well.  For this reason she had lost almost all muscle tone and was reduced to skin and bones.  I could tell that she had been sitting on that rope bed in the dark for years.  Her situation seemed hopeless, but I knew that God could change it.  We prayed and prayed, and then prayed some more.  But nothing happened.  By this time I was discouraged and confused.  “God, I don’t understand!  Why aren’t you healing her?  Isn’t this what You do here?  Isn’t this normal life here?  What happened to the amazing bush-bush testimonies that I’ve heard about?!  Why isn’t anything happening!?”

His response came…

“Why do you care?” He said.  “Do you actually love her?”

……..I was stunned.  I had no response.

“You know that I do, but do YOU?  You know that I came to give my life for her, but would YOU?  You know that I came to serve her, but would YOU?  Do you actually love her Jade?!  Do you actually love her?!  Or do you just want a cool testimony; a story to tell when you go back home?”

My heart stopped because I knew what my answer should be, and that’s not what it was.

“What’s her name?”

“I don’t know Lord…”

“What’s her name Jade?!  What’s her name?”

“I don’t know,” I cried, “I don’t know.  I’m sorry Lord.  I’m so sorry.  I don’t actually love her.  I thought that I did but I don’t.  I honestly don’t.  And that’s not okay.”

The Lord wasn’t finished…

“Jade,” He said, “unless you actually love someone as I do and unless you are willing to sacrifice and serve them as I would, you SHUT YOUR MOUTH and you DO NOT DARE speak of my love for them.  You are misrepresenting Me and I will not tolerate it.”

“Yes sir, I understand,” was my only response.

Then His tone changed.

“Honey,” He said, “the reason that Iris experiences these miracles is because they DO true love.  They stop for the one in front of them and love them.  They serve and sacrifice.  You need to learn that.  Love comes first, and everything else will follow.  But you need to learn to love first.  You can’t possibly love the multitudes until you learn to love the person in front of you.”
