He is Risen!

He is Risen!

As we enter this Easter weekend it would be good to reflect a little longer and deeper on what the resurrection of Jesus means for us. What at first appeared to be a tragic loss and injustice ended in the greatest gain and triumph of justice in all of human history. On the cross all of our sins were judged and atoned for once and for all. The consequences were dealt with. Nothing was left undone. When Jesus, with His final agonizing breath, cried “it is finished” (Jn. 19:28) it really was finished. The punishment for your sins and mine had all been poured out on Jesus, the Lamb of God. Now we are able to receive all the love and goodness of God. It’s called “grace”. .But as significant and necessary as the cross was it would be without meaning or benefit if it weren’t for the historical fact of the resurrection. The tomb is empty! He really is risen! And this is a fact attested to by eye witness accounts of many who not only saw Him but touched His risen body and ate with Him. Just read some of these accounts below.

From Luke:

“The first account I composed, Theophilus, about all that Jesus began to do and teach,  until the day when He was taken up to heaven, after He had by the Holy Spirit given orders to the apostles whom He had chosen. To these He also presented Himself alive after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God.” Acts 1:1-3

And from the Apostle Paul:

“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas (Peter), then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles; and last of all, as to one untimely born, He appeared to me also.” 1 Cor. 15:1-9

The historical fact of the resurrection of Jesus changed all of human history. Jesus has triumphed over sin and death for us. The Kingdom of Heaven is now ours. That is cause to celebrate every day. As the ancient believers used to greet one another, “He is risen! He is risen indeed!”

Going After Hidden Treasure!

As many of you know, Trish and I have a call to bring about Kingdom justice for the children of Thailand caught in or in danger of being caught in human trafficking. We want to see them rescued, saved, healed and restored to their divine destinies. One of our inheritiance passages is from Isaiah 45:3. “I will give to you the treasures of darkness and the hidden wealth of secret places, so that you… may know tht it is I, the Lord, the God of israel, who calls you by your name.” The treasure, the wealth is the children. One of the most compelling verses with regard to Kingdom justice for the oppressed is found in Proverbs 24:11-12. “Deliver those who are being taken away to death, and those who are staggering to slaughter, oh hold them back. If you say, ‘See, we did not know this.’ Does He not consider it who weighs the heart? And does He not know it who keeps your soul? And will He not render to man according to his work?” None of us can say “we did not know.” So now…what are we going to do about it?

The most frequent command found in the Bible is “Fear Not!”  This command or exhortation is found some 62 times throughout scripture. Why is that? I believe it is because fear is Satan’s chief weapon and it is almost always rooted in a lie about you, your circumstances or God’s character, His love and willingness to care for you. Here is a thought to ponder…..the opposite of love is not hate…it is fear. The antidote to fear is love! “Perfect love casts out fear.” 1 John 4:18. Regardless of what you are going through God is love and you are the object of His love. In Him we have nothing to fear.

Christmas Greetings!

“While they (Mary and Joseph) were there (Bethlehem), the days were completed for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son;…” Luke 2:6-7. As we read the Christmas story again we were reminded that there are times and seasons for all the goodness that God has planned for our lives. Each of us is carrying promises, divine destinies that are born of the Holy Spirit. And these things are impossible for us from a natural point of view. But that which has been planted in us by Him is supernatural. As we carry those things we remember that what is impossible for man is possible for God. In natural childbirth there is a gestation period. So it is in the Kingdom of God. We are sensing that many are now in a season when “the days are completed for you to give birth” to what you are carrying! Which the only sensible response is to REJOICE! We want to take this opportunity to tell you how much we love and appreciate you. Thank you for your love, prayers and support. Have a very blessed and merry Christmas!

The Power of Thanksgiving

This morning as I was spending time with the Lord I was reminded of a word He gave me on November 30, 2008 about thankfulness. I want to share it with you.

“I cannot resist ‘thanksgiving’. I am drawn to my people when they give thanks. your ‘thanksgiving’ creates atmosphere, makes room for me to move. Your ‘thanksgiving’ dispels darkness, destroys unbelief and the works of the devil. “Thanksgiving’ is the sound of heaven. It fills my courts. The sound of it draws me to you. It makes me attentive to your desires. Today, give me ‘thanks'”!

Thailand Floods

Trish and I would like to urge you to pray for Thailand right now! It is now experiencing the worst flooding in its history with record level flood waters now converging on Bangkok. I have attached three links to websites with current pictures, video and information. Please, pray that in the midst of this tragedy many hearts would be drawn to Jesus. Also, pray for the churches and believers who ar…e there that they would be protected, provided for and strengtheneded to minister in the love and power of God. Let’s agree in prayer for a miracle: that the flood waters be stopped where they are and receed; that further loss of lives and property be spared; and that a even greater flood of God’s love and power be poured out on that land and it’s people!
